Taking the admin out of looking after a valuable collection

A family office

The situation
The family office looks after a large number of valuable items across several properties. Cataloguing, documentation and maintenance records were taking up a great deal of its experts' time.
What we did
We started by consulting on where technology could genuinely help. A one-month research and proof-of-concept phase explored AI-assisted cataloguing, and we then designed and built a mobile application around the way the team actually works.
The outcome
The app streamlined the work and reduced administration. It has been in daily use for around three years, and we continue to support and maintain it.

Hands-on leadership for a large-scale cloud migration

A large US grocery retailer

The situation
The retailer was moving substantial systems to the cloud and needed experienced migration expertise within its own teams.
What we did
Since 2022, John has provided hands-on development, specialist cloud migration advice and technical leadership to team members within the client's migration programme.
The outcome
It's a long-running engagement that brings enterprise-scale cloud experience back to the smaller businesses we serve at home.

Higher education

The situation
Timetabling in higher education is complex, with many courses, rooms, staff and students to coordinate, and people rely on it every day.
What we did
We designed and built EdCal, a timetabling product for higher education, with a strong focus on quality and maintainability.
The outcome
EdCal has served tens of thousands of users, including at a world-leading university. Because it was built so well, it has been notably easy to support, and it continues to develop as a growing business.
